"Flame On!" How many times have we heard or read those words. They seem to have a 'flare' to them...pun intended. For Fantastic Four fans, and in particular those fans of Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, they will no longer be heard. In true hero fashion the fun-loving and wise-cracking member of the team gave of himself to save his family. He will always be remembered for his wit, humor, courage and bravery, and despite the apparent acts of immaturity he demonstrated a willingness to do what it took to save the day.
As is always the case when a hero falls, there is that possibility that he may return. In the world of comics anything is possible. Heroes just will not stay dead. Will that be the case with Johnny Storm? Will he rise from the ashes to again
ignite the fiery fun of the comic world and his team? Or will he simple burn as a memory of a once great hero? We have no answers. For now all we can do is acknowledge the passing of the Torch!
i think they may bring him back but it still hit me that they killed him in the first place i wont think of the torch the same again though for his sacrifice he made for the others he will always have a place in comic book fans hearts we will miss the torch greatly rest in peace human torch in honor of him im going to read some fantastic four graphic novels from the library
ReplyDeleteIn light of longstanding comics tradition involving popular characters, and especially in light of the upcoming Fantastic Four movie reboot, my best guess is that Johnny Storm will somehow return in a few years. In the meantime, though, it'll be interesting to see how the FF's family dynamic adjusts to this dramatic change. It'll also be interesting to see the effect on the rest of the Marvel Universe. (Remember, for example, that Johnny and Spider-Man have a long history as friendly rivals.)

Of course they will bring him back. I just hope they actually wait some amount of time before doing so. I don't mind when a company kills off a character and brings them back, but it aggravates me when they immediately bring them back as it proves that the whole death thing was just a marketing ploy and makes it seem as though the publishing company thinks we (the readers) are dumb lemmings that will buy whatever they put in front of us. Give it some time like Adam Warlock (the first time he died and was resurrected).
